Position Summary
This position will support occupational health, with a primary focus on keeping our employees fit for duty through injury prevention, employee wellness, case management, and process improvement that significantly impacts EHS's bottom-line performance while ensuring alignment with business strategies and operational requirements. This role is responsible for implementing an area occupational health strategy and framework to align the occupational health approach within a geographical area that Sysco operates. The position may autonomously support an area ( 2 or more physical locations) and include additional headcount dependent on business and operational needs to provide the most effective utilization of resources.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Drive effective medical case management to mitigate lost time frequency of Workers' Compensation claims with focus on use of the Transitional Duty Program.
+ Establish relationships with external healthcare providers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators to contain claim costs.
+ Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to provide timely triage and first aid support within the workplace to mitigate claim exposure.
+ Facilitate site First Responder Teams within the area to ensure timely access to first aid for workplace injuries.
+ Support the timely completion of Quarterly DOT Random Testing.
+ Ensure compliance of the OSHA Log and all forms within the log.
+ Develop effective management relationship and communication within the area to align priorities to meet EHS strategic goals.
+ Collaborate and support EHS to report and drive overall KPIs to demonstrate overall impact of Occupational Health services.
+ Support implementation of occupational programs at the area level, including disaster response and health and wellness programs.
+ Maintain all health information in a confidential HIPAA compliant manner.
+ Compile and submit injury/accident reports as required to monitor trends.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience Required:
+ 2 years of Nursing experience in occupational health setting
+ Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management
+ Demonstrated ability to drive performance to achieve goals
Experience Preferred:
+ Work experience in a transportation, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment
+ Previous experience in Safety and Workers' Compensation laws and regulations in the areas of application
+ Case Management in Workers' Compensation
Licenses/Certifications:
+ Licensed Registered Nurse in State of Residence. License must be active and unencumbered.
+ Licensed Registered Nurse in States within the area of application or ability to submit application within 30 days of hire. License(s) must be active and unencumbered.
+ Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S) preferred.
+ Certification in Case Management (ABOHN or CCMC) preferred.

+ Highly effective written and verbal communications skills, able to present complex issues simply and to reach audiences with different perspectives and educational backgrounds

+ Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, attentive to details, work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines, uses data to drive decisions
