Locum opportunities in Chesley

Come work with us! We are currently looking for locum coverage for physician holidays in 2024 between July - November.

A typical locum for our physicians in Chesley includes:

• ER coverage (1-2 shifts per week)
• Daily inpatient rounding from Monday to Friday (4-5 inpatients)
• Weekly nursing home rounds
• 1.5-3 days of clinic weekly

ER coverage not mandatory but preferred. Opportunity for OB call.

We are a town of approximately 1800 people and catchment area of 10,000. We are situated in the midst of cottage country where most people enjoy spending their downtime. Just 30 minutes to the beach, 45 minutes to the ski hills and 2.5 hours to Toronto, there's something for everyone to enjoy in the Bruce and Grey County area.

Our clinic uses Telus EMR (and Macs) which is user friendly and has the capability of building automatic reminders and custom forms to be able to decrease your time with paperwork and let you focus on patient care. The clinic was recently expanded in 2012 and includes two fully equipped exam rooms per Physician and large communal office space - which we feel describes culture here and encourages communication and camaraderie between Physicians.

The Brockton and Area Health Team resides in the same building including services such as Social Work, Chiropody, Nurse Educator, Nurse Practitioner, Dietician and Kinesiology. Many of our patients benefit from having combined appts with multiple services at one visit, not to mention the convenience for our Physicians when they can walk down the hall and communicate with the care team about specific patients or services.

South Bruce Grey Health Centre Chesley is an 18 bed facility, 10 alternate level of care and 8 acute beds. We have a FHO of 5 physicians. ER is currently open Monday to Friday from 0700-1700. Volume is approximately 15-20 patients seen per 24 hour shift.

X-ray is available 7 days a week from 0830-1630 and on call for ER. Outpatient ultrasound and lab available on site. Walkerton Hospital (sister site) has CT available 20 minutes away. Our closest specialist center is Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound -which offers a full range of specialty services including oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, OB/GYNE, Respirology, Psychiatry and more.
