The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank, who will serve as the inaugural BSD Section Chief of UChicago Medicine leading OB/GYN services at Ingalls Memorial Hospital (IMH). The appointee will contribute to patient care, medical education, and scholarship, including teaching and supervising trainees and medical students. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous fringe benefits package) depend on qualifications.
Additionally, the appointee will be responsible for restructuring and organizing the clinical care and management of patients on the IMH campus and at associated off-site locations. They will be the point person for the OB/GYN department at UChicago Medicine for Women’s Health at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. As a leader of all women's services, the appointee will also be responsible for collaborating with Federal Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and participating in obstetrical quality improvement projects. Together with IMH leadership, the Chief Obstetrical Transformation Officer, and the OB/GYN Department Chair, the appointee will be responsible for successful implementation of the IMH’s Women’s Health strategic plan as it pertains to clinical care and accomplishing the overall IMH clinical mission.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology for at least 2 years.
We especially welcome candidates with training and clinical experience in general obstetrics and gynecology, administrative leadership experience in obstetrics, and a special interest in building a high-quality obstetrics and gynecology program in a community hospital setting.
