Nurse Practitioner
MC Medical Clinic is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who is interested in developing their own patient panel and assist with specialty clinics we are developing.
The NP will work as a contractor based on a percentage of NP billings and uninsured services.
We are looking for an NP who can manage a diverse patient panel by using advanced decision-making skills in assessments, diagnosis and care management; help with specialty clinics, and work together in a team-based environment.
The NP performs comprehensive assessment, diagnosis (including the ordering and interpretation of tests), intervention (including the prescribing of medications), management, referral, and evaluation of client care across the full continuum of health care services. Depending on situations that may arise, we may need you to participate in program development and clinical teaching activities.
Responsibilities
· Must be willing to become a member of the Primary Care Network as a participating member in agreement with the Primary Care Network’s Business Plan.
· Engages patients in risk factor and health problem identification, goal setting, and making choices of intervention for disease treatment, prevention, and health promotion.
· Orders and interprets appropriate screening, diagnostic, and laboratory tests and keep complete and accurate records of client visits through timely documentation.
· Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team, patients, physicians, and other stakeholders necessary to develop appropriate, client-centered, individualized care plans.
· Considers the psychosocial, emotional, ethnic, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of a patient’s health without judgement.
· Uses and adapts assessment tools and techniques, as required, based on the patient’s unique needs.
Education and Certifications
· Successful completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner Program at a minimum of a Master of Nursing level or equivalent.
· Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Family/All Ages Stream.
· Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Security Clearance
· Experience in caring for diverse populations.

· Strong health assessment and clinical skills.

· Experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment and therapeutic interventions, health promotion, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care in the community.
· Computer literacy skills (i.e. EMR, NetCare, etc).
