About Us
The Hope to Health Clinic, Research and Innovation Centre in the Downtown Eastside is a unique and innovative health clinic comprised of a multidisciplinary clinical team focused on providing primary and specialty care for patients/ clients in the Downtown Eastside (DTES). The R&I centre is staffed by an interdisciplinary team (e.g., physicians, nurses, counsellors, peer navigators) and provides “wrap-around” healthcare to clients ensuring they receive the full continuum of care under one roof. Hope to Health Clinic works as part of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE).
The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS Centre with innovative, low barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, and receiving professional practice leadership and support from the Professional Practice Leader, Physiotherapy, this position supports the interdisciplinary Hope to Health Team (which also includes social workers, nursing, psychologists, physicians, pharmacists, etc.) in achieving program and patient goals. This includes providing evidence based clinical assessment, treatment and education grounded in physiotherapy theory and relevant post-graduate studies to outpatients with movement dysfunction, musculoskeletal and chronic/complex pain issues within a group setting and/or on an individual basis. Provides leadership and expertise in the evaluation and treatment of physical functioning/abilities, provides a therapeutic environment and self-management education, monitors patient outcomes and adjusts care plans as required by working collaboratively with patients, families and caregivers, and outside agencies.
Education and Experience
Baccalaureate Degree in Physiotherapy. Three (3) years recent related experience working in a chronic disease management setting including one year working with the specialized needs of patients with complex pain or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of B.C. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

The salary range for this position is CAD $42.56/Hr. - CAD $52.95/Hr.
