General Practitioner

Do you have a passion for providing care to seniors in retirement homes and supporting their health and well-being? This might be the right role for you! We are seeking attending physicians to join our team.

The Elden of Bradford provides a holistic approach to caring for older persons requiring 24-hour nursing care, to enable them to continue to live their lives and fulfill their goals and daily activities. The Elden of Bradford provides a home for up to 180 seniors. We provide retirement living along with 50 short stay beds for our transitional care unit, respite care, and specialize in meeting the needs of seniors who require complex care and residents with cognitive impairments.

You will be joining a team of dedicated health care professionals. The team works in collaboration with retirement home staff to provide high quality care. Working at The Elden of Bradford, you will be responsible for a resident roster of approximately 50+.

Key Role Duties:

• Attend the retirement home on a designated day, on a weekly basis, to provide clinical care and assessments to assigned residents in a clinic setting
• Address resident acute and chronic care needs and provides appropriate and timely documentation in Point Click Care record system
• Work collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team including the other attending physician to ensure the highest level of care is provided to the residents
• Conduct regular medication drug reviews
• Participate in after hour coverage and on-call coverage

Requirements:

• Medical practitioner license to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario, and be a member in good standing of the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Experience working in Retirement Homes, preferred
• Experience/interest in care of the Elderly is an asset
• Knowledge of legislation and regulations governing retirement homes
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to build trust and interact in a professional manner with staff, residents, families and other team members

Renumeration:

• Fee for Service
• monthly per stipend

Individuals providing Attending Physician services in The Elden of Bradford are required to provide:

• Proof of Covid-19 Immunization
• Confirmation of TB Skin Testing
• Attending Physicians must also comply with the Homes’ Covid-19 requirements, including a masking and swabbing policy.
